Head Nods and Scratches

I was both delighted and stunned at the same time this morning when I read Colin Gibbs' interview with Bob Borchers. The below Q&A in particular triggered a mixture of head nods and head scratches simultaneously:

My head nods came with agreement that the mobile app space is a seductive, hit-driven business that can be self-destructive. I then scratched my head... Borchers' comment about his interest in infrastructure to location enable wireless networks is perplexing.  This was done about nine years ago, yet could it be people out there don't know or remember this? I'm curious if he means something newer or different. Scratch scratch.
